Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making Pistaclub usable by everyone.

Last updated: 2026-07-16

1. Our commitment

Pistaclub is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to make sure we provide equal access to all of our users.

This statement applies to the Pistaclub web application at pistaclub.app and the associated iOS and Android applications wrapped from the same codebase.

2. Conformance standard

Pistaclub aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and improve the user experience for everyone.

Level AA is the standard referenced by the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) which applies to business-to-consumer digital services from 28 June 2025.

3. Current conformance status

Pistaclub is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

We regularly audit new features against the following criteria during development:

  • Colour contrast on text, controls, and status indicators.
  • Full keyboard navigation for every interactive element (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape).
  • Semantic HTML: proper heading order, form label associations, and ARIA where needed but not overused.
  • Focus indicators visible in every UI state — including inside modals, popovers, and virtual lists.
  • html lang set per page from the active i18n language so screen readers pronounce content correctly.
  • Non-text content (images, icons) has meaningful alt text or is marked decorative.
  • No content flashes more than three times per second (WCAG 2.3.1).
  • Media (videos, audio) has captions or transcripts where provided by us. User-generated media is exempt but reportable.

4. Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some parts of the platform may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations we are actively working on:

  • Interactive maps (event finder, track locations) rely on a third-party map library whose native keyboard navigation is limited. A text-based alternative event list is always available on the same page.
  • User-generated content (event photos, forum posts, marketplace listings, laptime videos) is not authored by Pistaclub and may lack alt text, captions, or transcripts. We provide upload flows that prompt authors for alt text and will improve enforcement over time.
  • Complex data grids (organizer analytics, leaderboards with many columns) are keyboard-navigable but the reading order on very wide tables may not match visual order on small screens. A summary view is available for the most important metrics.
  • Third-party checkout (Stripe Checkout for paid events and Premium subscriptions) is provided by Stripe and follows their accessibility standard. We link to their accessibility statement for details.

If you encounter any barrier not listed here, please report it using the contact details in §7 below.

5. Assessment approach

Pistaclub assessed the accessibility of the platform using the following approaches:

  • Automated testing: axe-core and Lighthouse accessibility audits are run as part of every public release.
  • Manual keyboard-only testing on the critical journeys: sign up, event search + booking, marketplace listing, direct-message, moderation appeal, and data-subject requests.
  • Screen-reader spot checks using VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) and NVDA (Windows) on the same journeys.

We do not yet have an independent third-party audit report; one is planned for the first full calendar year after public launch and will be linked here when complete.

6. Technologies this platform relies on

Accessibility of Pistaclub relies on the following technologies working with any assistive technology (screen reader, screen magnifier, voice input) that is compatible with them:

  • HTML
  • WAI-ARIA
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

7. Feedback and contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Pistaclub. If you experience any accessibility barrier, please contact us:

  • Email: support@pistaclub.app — include the URL, what you were trying to do, the assistive technology you were using, and the barrier you encountered.
  • Response target: we aim to respond within 5 business days. Where a fix is not immediate we will explain what we plan to do and when.

8. Enforcement and escalation

If our response is unsatisfactory, or the reported barrier is not addressed within a reasonable time, you may escalate to the competent national accessibility enforcement body:

  • Czech Republic: the accessibility supervision in place under the transposition of Directive (EU) 2019/882 by Act No. 88/2024 Coll. — competent body is being appointed; until fully appointed, complaints may also be lodged with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MPSV).
  • Germany: Bundesfachstelle Barrierefreiheit (bundesfachstelle-barrierefreiheit.de).
  • France: Défenseur des droits (defenseurdesdroits.fr).
  • Italy: AgID (Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale).
  • Other EU/EEA countries: your national market surveillance authority for products and services under the European Accessibility Act.

A dispute about how Pistaclub processed a personal-data accessibility request can also be raised with the Czech data protection authority — see the Dispute Resolution page for the ÚOOÚ contact block.

9. Approval and review

This statement was prepared on 2026-07-16 and is reviewed at least annually, and after any material change to the platform's accessibility posture. The next scheduled review is one year from the date above.

Data protection questions related to this statement should be addressed to dpo@pistaclub.app.
